I hope that many young husbands and wives who read this story will think over it a long time.

There are many young women who are possessive wives. They want to absorb their hulabands, body and soul. They want to feel that their husbands have not an interest or s thought for any one else but them- selves. And they particularly desire to separate their husbands from their families because they are Jealous of them. They resent their hus- bands’ love for ‘their own people.

I have known plenty oi such cases in which a wife was never willing for her husband to go to see his parents or to have any oi his family come to visit them; who raised motions every time her ‘ ” ’ helped his people in any way, and who taught her children to love her people, but to feel that her husband's people were strangers. Perhaps thesw women do not quite realize how ruthlessly cruel they are i: their sélilshness, but malignity itself could devise no more fiendish torture than they inflict upon the father and mother who see the son who has been the very center of their lives being separated from them by the arts and wiles of a mean woman,

Of course, any man who permits himself to be so dominated by his wife that he neglects his mother and puts aflronts upon his lather is s pitifully weak character. If he hsd any strength and stamina hewould be loyil to those to whom he owed so much, and whether his wife would go to see them or not he would not fail in visiting them and spending with them half of the anniversaries that are so desolate to an old couple left alone. I am a great believer in retribution. I don't think that we have to wait until we get to the Judgment Bar to be punished for our sins.
