Intercepting Immigrants.

T. H. Cross, secretary of the Moosomin soard of Trade, Assinaboia, proceeds to Halifax, and will locate there soma weeks for the purpose of meeting the incoming steamships, witha view to inducing the immigrants to settle in the Moosomin dis- trict.

The Behring Sea Matter.

The excitement at Washington over the Behring Sea affair has not spread here. The papers and officials both discredit the idea that two friendly peoples should come to blows over such an affair, when so near- ly put to arbitration.
