Orrawa, Aug. 16.—Mr. Farquhareou, Premier of P. K. Island, is bere arranging with the minister of Marine for the ee-~ tablishment of a direct steamship service between Charlottetown Sand Liverpool. The contract is us good as closed—It pro- vides fora fortnightly saillng from the Island by a sieamship Jot about 4000 tons to be equipped with cold stoaage for the transporiation of batter, cheese and other perishable freight. The service to com- mence about 6:h of September. The subsidy voted by Parliament last session jor this service was $7000.
