An Act to continue the Act ofthe twenty-first year of the Reign of Her present Majesty, intituled “ An Act to continue for certain purposes, the Seduction Act, and to make other provisions in lieu thereof as regards all future actions.”

[Passed April 3, 1865.] HEREAS the Act made and passed in the twenty-first year of the Reign of Her present

Majesty, intituled “ An Act to continue for certain

purposes, the Seduction Act, and to make other

provisions in lieu thereof as regards all future ac- tions” will shortly expire, and it is deemed expedient to continue the same.

I. Be it therefore enacted by the Lieutenant Gov- ernor,Council and Assembly, that the said hereinbe fore recited Act, and every clause, matter and thin!r therein contained, shall be and the same is hereb; continued for ten years from the passing hereof, and from thence to the end of the then next session of the General Assembly ofthis Island and no longer.

' the jurisdiction of the Mayor’s Court, in the City of Charlottetown, in matters omeall Debt.

1. Be it enacted by the Lieutenant Governor, Council and Assembly, as follows:

The Mayor’s Court for the recovery of Small Debts in the City of Charlottetown may, in addition to actions of debt and trover, have power and juris- diction in and over all cival actions or contracts, and, also, over all actions ex-dclicto, including actions of assault and battery, replevin case, detinue and slander, wherein respectively the damages claimed shall not exceed five pounds. '
