FEEDER REPORT

Mrs. Thelma Clark of Indian River, writing on Mar. 30, reports their feeder and nearby fields to be a hive of activity: hundreds of Canada Goose in a field that had potatoes in it last year, 2 Hairy WOodpecker, 2 Down Wood ecker, 30'Bluejay, 15 Black—capped Chickadee, 4 Boreal Chickadee, 2 pairs of Red—breasted Nuthatch, several House Sparrow,

12 Red—Winged Blackbird (Mar. 203, 8 Common Grackle (Mar. 20), a few Brown-headed Cowbird (Mar. 20), over 70 EVening Grosbeak (including one banded male), 6'Dark—eyed Junco, and several Tree Sparrow. In addition 8‘red‘sguirrels come to the door for peanuts and a chipmunk was seen briefly in mid March surveying the snow on the ground.

Geoff Hogan reports that except for the suet hangers, the feeding station at his home at 153 North River Road has been closed since the third week of March. However on Apr. 16—17 the following birds were present: 2 Hairy Woodpecker, 2 Downy Woodpecker, 2 Bluejay, 2 Common Crow, 2 American Robin, 10 Starling, 6 HOuse Sparrow, 20 Common Grackle, 15-20 Evening Grosbeak, l m American Goldfinch (nearing complete

breeding plumage , 2 Song Sparrow.

Mrs. Beverley Dumville of Cornwall reports in mid April that in addition to the regulars at her feeder she has 1 f Hairy Woodpecker, 1 pair Downy

Wood ecker, 1 White-breasted Nuthatch, 1 pair Red—breasted Nuthatch, I Brown Creeper (Apr. 9), 1 Fox Sparrow (Apr. 12).
