» NEW YORK (AP) — John George worked his way through college. After 7% years of part.

time school, winter and sum-

mer, he got his degree in elec. trical engineering.

But he also acquired a wife and four children along the way and the inevitable demands y cheque that: go with such a collection. Grad ‘ nate school would seem. under the circumstances. clearly out of the question.

But when the new semester begins at City College of New York. John George will be back at the books.

Governor Of Kenya Replaced

LONDON (CPl—The colonial office has announced here the retirement of Sir Patrick Renison, 51, as governor of Kenya.

He will be succeeded by Mal- colm Macdonald. 62. formerly British co - chairman of the Laos conference and high corn- missioner in Southeast Asia, Colonial S e c re t a ry Duncan Sandys announced.

Several newspapers said Ben- ison quit the post after a sharp clash with Sandys over inde- pendence for Kenya.

Sandys denied the resignation was caused by differences on policy between the two men during last week's London con- sultations.

In a statement, Sandys said:

“Sir Patrick Renison was in- formed many months ago by the then colonial secretary that it was intended in the final stage of Kenya‘s advance to independ- ence to appoint in his place a man with wide political experi- ence."

The Sunday Telegram says two reasons lay behind the Brit- ish government's decision to replace" Denison.

The first was that the govern- ment felt there must be more dynamic and imaginative hand- ling of constitutional issues in Kenya. The second was African criticism of the lack of under~

standing of Kenya's problems.
