ER Majesty’s Government having estal'ilished a Weekly Mail between the United Kingdom and the East Indies, and, at the same time, increased the fre- qtiency of the Mail Service with Ceylon, Singapore and China from twiCe in each Calendar Month to once in every alternate \Veek; the postage on letters from this Island to the East Indies and Ceylon is raised from Eleven. Pence Sterling to One Shilling and Two Pence

Sterling per half ounce.

Upon letters intended to be forwarded by the route of Marseilles. the rate of postage is raised from One Shil- ling and Three Pence Sterling to One Shilling and Sir Pence Sterling per half ounce.

The Postage on letters to Singapore and China re- mains at One Shilling and Fire Pence Sterling per half ounce.

The above rates MUST BE PRE-PAID.

ENTRANCE TO GEORGETO\VN HARBOR.

ST. ANDREW POINT LIGHT. HE Light-house recently erected on St. Andrew Point. (West side of entrance of Georgetown IIaru bor), being now complete. a FIXED VVHI'I‘E LIGHT will be exhibited therein, during the season the naviga- tion is open.

The Light is placed at an elevation of 36. feet above the level of high water, in a four-Sided building, 530 feet high, painted red and white in vertical stripes.

Lat. 46" 9’ 57” N. Long. 62 31 23 W.

Vessels entering the harbor should, in passing Pan. mure Island light, keep the above light on the bearing of N. W. by W., magnetic, so as to avoid Cardigan Shoal on the right, and Wheeler Bar and I’anmuro Shoal on the left.
