About two weeks ago Cunningham secured a leave of absence, and deter- mined to visit New Orleans, and he ar- rived here last Friday morning. His life had been insured, and having some business to transact with the company here, he went and introduced himself. To bis consternation he then leraned he had been dead a year, having perished in the fire in California hotel. Of course he denied this emphatically, aod enquit- ed after further particulars, when the story come out.
