Bexwal, Ashanti, August 2.—Major HM. R. Beddoes with 40@ men and two guns, started July 24, to locate the enemy’s war camp. The cawp was found, the warriors rum bering 3,000 to 4,006 men, three days marching east of Dempoessi. Several hours figntiog resulted im the defeating of the Ashantis, after a stubborn resiatance. Major Beddoes’ losses were heavy. He aod Lieutenants Phillips and Swaby were severley wounded. Thirty men were also wounded, More troops will be necessary before the campaign can possible finish.
