Dear Editor;

We the students of Canadian Studies 222 Introduction to Womens Studies in Canada at the University of Prince Edward Island are writing this letter because of the current controversy surrounding the Backlash column in the X-Press, the University newspaper, and of course, Introduction to Womens Studies and Pro- fessor Vaughn Jeliffe, our instructor.

We are in this course to learn and to open our minds to debate and new ideas. We will understand one another and respect each others views with debate and new ideas and therefore have a better university.

Professor Vaughn Jeliffe challenges us and we respect and enjoy herclasses which are original and fascinat-

ing.

This course should be mandatory for both men and women just like English 101.
