The affair throughout ‘was of the most enjoyable character and indicated the good feeling existing between officers and men. A FRENCH COMMODORE GOING TO INVESTIGATE

The Cause of the Burning of a French Factory

Isley and Froade, in command of Come modore Henrique, will leave here for Newfoundland in a few days to investigate the cause of recent fire which ruined the largest lobester factory oh the French Shore.

The Commodre has been infromed of the identity of the incendiary. He is a native ef Newfoundlard and lived about forty miles from the burned factory and says he did the deed at the instigation of mer- chante in Newfoundland,

Commeédore Henrique, feels very deeply on the eubject and will seek indemnity from the Newfoundland geveroment. Punishment of the crime will not he says satisfy his government.
