I would like to extend my best wishes to all of you on your new year at the University, may it be both educational and enj- oyable. We at the CADRE hope that we can be help- ful to you, with a paper

'that is informative, in-

teresting and controver- sial. Our hope is that the paper will have much more diversity than it, ever has had in-the past, with a far wider range of student interests

being touched upon.

We enjoy receiving your responce, whether it is on something that had Ibeen written in the paper, or just something that you feel is worth mention. The University newspaper shouldn't be for the ex—

. pression of ideas by just a few people, but should be a voicing spot for a large nUmber of people ,from the University comm- unity. As a result we are still attempting to sol-

icit the help of as many people as possible. We are still looking for people to do book and magazine reviews, cartoons ‘articles of general int- erest, layout or any other general newspaper business. Anybody inter-\ ested should feel free

I had the pleasure of visiting The Island dur— ing this summer. During my stay, I participated in a few Island activities. Many of these were not blessed and attended by the University.

The University seems to overlook its responsibil— ity to the public. The Gold Cup and Saucer was one of the deprived acti- vities. When the Univer— sity does not participate in these famous.Island
