Last night. December 13th., mem- bers of the Rustico calf club along with many adults from the vicinity-

The Rustioo "Acadian" calf club was also reorganized at this meet- ing. Four new members; Leo Pin- eau, Lorraine Blanchard, Berna- dette Pineau. and Killmur Hagen joined the club.

Officers for '51 are: President Aubrey Doucette; Vice-Pres. Klllmur Hagen: Sec.-Tress. Alyre Pineau; Adult. Directors Wilfred Doucelte. Mr. Hagen.

Meeting will be held second Fri- day of each month during the win- ter.

The sherbrooke calf club was re- organized at the school on Tues- day, December 12th. Layton Mill- igan. President. conducted the meeting, The Secretary reported np- proxlmately 312.00 on hand and

The following officers were ap- pointed for next year: President - Urban Laughlin; Vice-Pres... Kathleen Delcker: Sect.-Treas. Junior Colwiil; Adult Directors - Charles Yeo and James Harris.

This club conducts its boslncss very efficiently and opened their meeting by singing "O Canada" and closed it with the National Anthem. This is the only calf club on the Island -which opens and closes its meetings in this manner and it is verv commendable.

Their next meeting will be held at the home of Urban Laughlin on January 9th.

The Junior Farmers of Lot l6 met in Central school on Wed- nesday. December lath. Their an- nual meeting had been planned for this night but due to a scarcity of members it was decided to hold t:I1cir annual meeting on the Tith.

OTTAWA. Dec. 14 - (CP)-The R. C. M. P. today held out 5200 I month and the promise of advent- ure for recruits for its far-flung force.

The Mpunties need 500 men for its growing operations, running the gamut from trailing spies to trac- wz dope rings and keeping tab on things in the Canadian north.

Responsibilities are increasing these days from coast to coast. Re- cruits have been hard to come by: at least the kind of recruits want- ed-,-"intelligent, wctive. able-bodied men of sober and steady character."
