The epidemic was not discovered until Friday last. Previous to that they thought it was chicken-pox. Board of health then took charge. Compulsory vaccination is now en- forced. The to Cape Tormentine schools huve been closed, and pub- lic gatherings prohibited. There has been only one death so far. The disease is of a very mild type. There are between forty and fifty cases developed, mostly amongst tarmers and lumbermen.

We also sent the following mes- sage to Dr. Calkin at Sackviile, the physician who has charge of the affair for the Board of Health:
