Condition Of, Stovodoro is Said Improved

The condition of Reginald Gal- lant of Mont Carmel. age 18 years. who was seriously injured on Wed- nesday morning while working on a potato boat at the Marine Wharf in Summerslde was reported last night by hospital authorities as being slightly improved although he was still unconscious and still considered to be serious.

Mr. Gallant, while working as stevedore on the potato boat Fran- cis Chorin. slipped on the icy dock and fell into the ship's hold about 2) feet below, striking his head on a steel rail. He was rushed to the Prince County Hospital where it was found that he was suffering from a fractured skull together with concussion.

S'side Y's Men's Club Meeting

The regular meeting of the Sum- merslde Y's Men's Club was held last night at the Y Center in Green Street with Y's Arthur Rob- inson as chairman. Horace Mac- Farlane acted as song leader with John Leuty at the piand. Y's Geo- rge Clarke was finesmaster.

Y's Harry Holman, Maritime director of the Bishop's Fund showed slides of a number of stamps some of which were of value and others valueless. so that members could distinguish those to be saved. Y's Dick Hinton thank- ed Y's Harry on behalf of the club.

Elizabeth Nicholson, Cecelia Dar- by and Jimmy Norton reported to the Ya Men on the Hi-Y Clubs meeting held last week end in Mon- cton. James Norton thanked the Ys men for making the l-ll-Y Trip possible.

A special meeting of the Sum- merside Town Council. which will be open to the public, has been called for Monday evening for the purpose of discussing matters in regard to the artificial ice system the town has decided to install and to consider "further improvements in the Stadium property.

The report of the treasurer, Mr. Chester MacDonald. showed that 777 members have assets in the credit union of 33,182.26. At the present time there are loans a- mounting to 32,313.25 and a cash balance of 3869.01. His report stat- ed that more than 57,000.00 has been loaned to mbers since the organization of the Community Credit Union two years ago.

There will be free time for the Guiders at noon and sessions ulll resume at 2.00 p.m. and there will also be free time before the din- ner in the evening. -
