EDMONTON, Alts., Oct. zit-Fren- zled farmers aided by police today secured the frontier bushlands seek- ing the murderer of four residents near Smoky Lake. 80 miles northeast of Edmonton. 'I‘hres members of one family and a neghboriug farmer were killed by the charges from a 13 gauge shotgun carried by the murderer. An aged woman is also near death from gunshot wounds inflicted by the man being tracked down by the posses.

The dead are Mr. and Mrs. John Waianskl, their 18 year old invalid daughter Mary, and John Darchuk, whose farm is near that of the Wal- snskfs. Mrs. Anna Huchaluk, aged mother of Mrs. Wslanski was found in crltcal condition and was rushed to the hospital at Smoky Lake, where it is said she has only a slight chalice to live.

Police are seeking George Dwcrn- chuk. son-in-law of Walanskl, who was s. storekeeper at Edmonton. Dwernchuk left Edmonton to visit Smoky Lake Wednesday and is stat- ed to have visted friends and bor- rowed a 12 gauge shotgun for a hunt- ing trip. His wife is stated to have left him some time ago and her whereabouts is unknown.
