Stumps were drawn yesterday afternoon at & quarter past six o’clock. A good days eport had been epjoyed by Charlottetown cricketers. Playing throughout was very fair, good batting and bowling teen done. The tielding was rather slow, and in thie, perhaps more thao ip any other way prac- tice is what is wented. AysorHer Buroevtary. — Yesterday moroing between three and four o’clock — just about the eame time as the attempt at burglary was wade at Mr.J. A. Me- Kinley’s, North River, on the previcus morping— burglars entered the forge of Mesers. Batt Bros., at the head of Poole & Lewis’s wharf. They broke in through the window in the end of the building tearimg the shutter off. A lot of | spare brass and copper which was about | the shop,—worth at least $10 or $12 was | taken, and shortly afterwards sold to Simon a foreigner who buys junk and keene a store onthe corner of Powanal and King i streets. The matter has not been reported | to the police and the burglars have since | disappeared. Itis reported that a quantity of copper was aleo stolen out of the ware~ house used by Mr. White, the contractor who is building the S S Brant.
