Dear Editor, 7. 7 Well, anotherweek has passed at UPEI and I . have been getting plenty of feedback from my last article. Many people ' have, supported the things I have said but could not see how I could get the gall to writhe this. But I believe that if I have sanething to say then I might as well lay the cards on the table. I would like to point out before-going on to more issues, that these views are my own. They are _what I of the way this university is being The first topic I would like to state is the topic about rules in the uni- versity. r I think rules once made should be applied to all people not just to «whatever people you feel like amlying these rules to. A certain head resident in Blanchard Hall does notepplyhthe. rules ' coris‘iéténtlylé ‘A certain person went there ‘ onenight'with all his friends and this head resident would not let him in but let his friends in.' So he called down saneone who lives in the Hall but she still would not let him—in. This creates a situation

where trouble ‘begins . The

trouble is not the student.

It is the university head resident. . This is sane- t’heu Security Dept. and saddest-mew head

'on. If' one student's name keeps reoccuring I . suggest ypu look at the head resident not on the stude‘ht-beCause the student has no power but the headaresident does. Also, before playing an intramural game last week, I renenber being told that nouone was to use Panther gear. But when stepping on the” ice V I noticed that team No. 5 were calling out Of the UPEI dressing roan with UPEI's C'ooper— all hockey gear on. If you make a rule everyone should go by it or no one at all. This is where the UPEI staff

Is it because you play on the soccer team that you can do anything you

want or what? The security _ - Dept. does the same

here. My idea of Security is preventing breaks, and damages from happening. _ But this is no the case for UPEI security.

Where were they when break after break occured at the Barn? I think the Security Dept. like playing a game of cat and mouse. Do the crime and we will see if we can catch you. Who ever did these breaks made clowns of UPEI security. Instead of going to the bank next Friday I think I will

go to the Barn late Thursday night.

Another thing that I

find peculiar is how come 4 UPI has no facilities for sports. Rumor was going around a couple

of years ago that a much meeded sports complex

- was going to be built.

At that and-even at this present day we need a good rink to facilitate our hockey Panthers. 80 when the land beside the gym was being groomed many people thought that this was the long awaited sports complex. But instead what did' we get? A planetarim. Asking many students if they cared for this planetariun, many stated

less if the giant golf ball rolled away. \It is no ' wonder many athletes

; Rowena Neme’rz Exhibition . and Sale are planned

The UPEI Arts Council has announced A Retrospective Exhibition and Sale of paintings and sculptures by A Rowena Nemetz.

The exhibition and sale will be held at the Robertson Library Lecture Theatre from November 29 to December 31

A prolific painter Ms. Nemetz aCcompanied her husband Donald on his consultant contracts in a number of under‘ developed countries of the world . As a result she has studied

‘ with other painters in Formosa, El Salvador and Ethopia.

' i In 1974 Mrs. Nemetz and her husband accompanied I , by their son and daughter-in-law, sailed their 40 foot sloop , across the Atlantic. it was during this passage that Ms Nemetz sensed a new meaning or consciousness in her life, and, now a resident of Prince Edward island, she feels free to paint with an unhampered spirit. Twenty-five percent of the proceeds from the sale will be donated to the UPEI Scholarship Fund.

Donald Nemetz is a Professor in the School of Business Administration at UPEI.
