Stressed Out Student Adopts Chicken; then Discar

After Adventure Explosion! Brandy MacLellan (NSO co-ordinator) finds a previously unknown chicken on the bot-

tom of the pickle-pool. In a celebratory fashion she shows it to everyone. Its warm carcass is in the shape of a heart. Brandy takes a break to give the bird some attention. She picks dog food from the place where stuffing goes and

thinks of its future.

Welcome Back!

The summer has finally ended and the new school year is well under- way. On behalf of all students, I would like to extend a warm welcome to all students who have chosen to spend this academic year at UPE]. As many of us have seen over the past week, there is a tremendous feeling of spirit on cam- pus. Our orientation week has contin- ued the tradition of improving on the success of previous years, with over 300 students participated in this well- organized week of fun and friendship.

I would like to thank all of the upper-

year students generously donated there time and energy to organize this week long event.

Over the past week the new Student Centre has also proven itself to be the new hub of campus. The build- ing has been bustling with activity since the doors opened to the public. Our opening week at The Wave has been fantastic, with crowds larger than expected, and we have receive a great deal of positive feedback from stu- dents. Thank you all for your support,

and I encourage you to continue to support the great services located in the Student Centre throughout the school year.

This year we are making it a priority to increase spirit and "Panther Pride" on campus. As an organization we have been working closely on this issue with Athletics and Residence

Your time here at UPEI is more than attend- ing classes for 4 years and receiving a degree. Your university years are an experience unlike any other you will
