Fires.~The alarm on Saturday night about eleven o’clock was fora fire in Weeks & Warren’s boot and shoe store on Grafton street. The firm had upwards cf $6,000 worth of stock io the store, all of which is more or less damaged by fire, water or smoke. There is insurance for about half this amount in companies re presented by DB Stewart aod E H Beer. The building was aleo damsged, bui the loss is covered by insurance beld by Mr. F. W. Hyndman. The fire ie believed to bave started among some boots piled on a table over which the stovepipe passes to the chimmey, as there was a hele in the pipe near ihe elvow.

The alarm yesterday morning was for a slight fire in a house on Bayfield Streei, caused by a defective flue.
