WASHINGTON, May 13 —-(A.P) —A massive coalition of Republic- ans and Democrats today rammed through the Senate a history-mak- ing bill to check strikes and ofher union activities in the United States. The vote was 68 t0 24, enough to override a presidential veto. if the line-up remains un- changed.

Lobster Batches Small But Hope For Increase Soon

Lobster fishermen are averaging 200 pounds of lobsters per boat at Beach Point. Murray Harbour, and Graham's Pond, thrc\ lobster fishing centres In King's County.

Herring appeared off Murray Harbor last Monday for the first time this season and the fisher- men are busy getting adequate supplies of bait in the event that. the lobster catches increase soon.

The fishermen avg, being paid $10 for canning lobster and $15 for the large 512B or market lob- sters.

Reports from the western sec- tion of the Province indicate that the fishermen at North Cape. Tig- nish, and Alberton have all their gear set but that the catches are

poor.

Old fishermen say, however, that. there is a good possibility of the catches becoming larger within the next few days. They base their argument on the fact that. in other seasons, when the herring snd the lobsters arrive at approximately the same time the catches were small at the lie- ginning but increased consider-

ably later in the season.
