Beer BREED ron Dunv Cows.—-—A writer in the , American Agriculturalist expresses his opinion, founded on con- siderable endear ul cxperience, that the very best‘brg attic for dairy pur- poses, and one adapted for this climate, is a cross between the Ayrshire and the Alderny. He considers the pure Aldcrny the very best milk breed, but too delicate for this climate; across with the Ayrshire gives the requisite hardiness of constitu- tion. and improves the milk-producing qualities of the latter.

Another remedy, said to be exceedingly good, is as follows: Take equal parts of common salt and sulphur, mix them well together and sprinkle about a teaspoonful of the mixture on each Vine. ‘

In Brittany the milk of the previous evening is mixed with the morning's milk, and after standing a few hours the whole is churned, and is said to produce alargc amount of butter, of a better quality, and that will keep longer, than that treat- ed in the usual manner. .
