On Thursday evening, October 25, I had the plea- sure of listening to Professor J.J. Coyle reflect upon some of his university experiences at St. Dunstans during the late 1920's. I must say that the image which he presented certainly reminded me of St. Dunstans during the mid 1960's. The rules and regulations, especially those for re- sidence students, did not change very much over the period of 40 years.

The conduct of students attending S.D.U. had to correspond with the Christian principles of living. It was the university's intention to develop habits of virtue within the youth at the time. Discipline was looked upon as being neces- sary for this development, so the University had rules and regulations which were to be strictly adhered to. The point was made that respect and obedience must be shown to all in authority.

I REMEMBER WHEN-
