IN pursuance of an Act of the General Assembly of this Island, made and passed in the twenty-seventh year of the reign of Her Majesty Queen Victoria, intituled “ An Act to consolidate and amend the seve- ral Laws imposing an Assessment on all Lands in this Colony, and for the encouragement of Education,” and alSo of an Act made and pas5ed in the thirtieth year of the same reign, intitulcd “An Act to amend

the Act relating to Land Assessment,” I do hereby publicly notify the.

owners or occupiers of Land in this Island, for which the annual Assessment or Assessments charged thereon by the said recited Acts, or some one or more of them, of nine shillings and tire pence. lawful money of this Island, for every hundred acres of wilderness or unim- proved Lands contained in the s--veral Townships and the Islands be- longing thereto; and the sum of six shillings and eight pvnce, of like money, tor every hundred acres of cultivated or improved Lands in the said several Townships and Islands as aforesaid; and at the rate of nine shillings and two pence, of like money, per hundred acres tor wil- derness or unimproved Town Lots and Posture Lots in the Town and Royalty of Princetown; and at the rate of six shillings and eight pencc, oflike money, per hundred acirs for t‘ul'ivult‘d or improved 'l‘oWn Lots and Pasture Lots in the Town and Royalty of Princetown as aforesmd, and at the rate of two shillings and six pence, of like money, for each and every Lot in Charlottetown formerly occupied as the Barrack Square, in prop irtion to area, on the same footing and to the same ex- tent as Town Lots in Charlottetown; and the sum ol four shillings, of like money, for each and eVi-ry uncultwtcd or unimproved 'l‘own Lot, Common L :t and Water Lot granted in the Town and Common ot‘ Char- lottetoivn; and the sum of s x shillings, of like money, lor each and every uncultivated or unimproved Pasture Lot in the ltoyalty of Char- lottetown; and the sum of four Shillings, of like money, for each and every cultivated or iinproVed Pasture Lot in the Royalty; and the sum of two shillings and Six pence, of like money, for each and every cul- tivated or improved Town Lot and Water Lot in the said Town; and the sum of twu shillings, of like money, tor each and every cultivated or improved Common Lot as aforesaid; and the sum of two shillings and eight pence, of like money, for each and evcry uncultivated or [inim- proved Town Lot and Water Lot. in the Town of Georgetown; and the sum of one shilling and four pence, of like money, for each and every cultivated and improVed Town Lot and Water Lot in the last mentioned Town; and the sum of three shillings and four pence, ol like money, for each and cvrry uncultivated or unimproved Pasture Lot in the Royalty of Georgetown; and the sum of two shillings, of like money, for each and every cultivated or improved Pasture Lot in the last men- tioned Royalty; and the sum of tWo pence, of like money, for each and every acre of cultivated or improved L.nd in the Royalty of George

town, called lteserved Lands; and the sum of three pence, of like money, it)? each and every acre oi such last mentioned Lands as may be deemed uncultivated or unimproved Lon-ls; and so in proportion for a. less quantity,-—-—is payable, that. unless the Assessment or Assessments for the current year imposed by the said recited Acts, or some one or more of them, be paid into my hands or the hands of any of my deputies (as requirc d by law) on or b fore the Tl'llth day of December next, I shall proceed against all such Lands as shall then be in arrear for non- payment of the sums charged thereon.

l have this day levied on the said Lots, and will sell the same, by Public Auction, at the old Court House in Georgetown, on Mommy, the 13th day of January, 1808, to satisfy the said Assessment and costs.

Rheumatism, Lumbago, Contracted and Stilf Joints.

Many thousands of martyrs from the above complaints have found life almost unsupportable; yet if llolloway’s Ointment be briskly and perseVoringly ruooed upon the parts atfected, case may be safely guaranteed, especially if the pores of the skin be preViously opened by l‘omtniations with warm water. The gross humors require expul- sion from the system; it is therefore necessary to have recourse to llolloway’s admirable l’ills which by puriiying and strengthening the system, greatly assist the operation of the Ointment and facilitate and conﬁrm the cure.
