Curtis‘ Crock, and I have vcry pleas- ant memories of this spot, since when I was a small boy it was a family custom to have a picnic here each 24th of May. I wcll remember how I used to enjoy fishing in this little brook. Not that the angling was scientific. It wasn't at all. I don’t believe I ever resorted to the tradi- tional bent pin; but the bait was al- ways a. nice fat worm, and the rod just a little branch cut from a near- by trcc. But so narrow was the little brook. and so well lined wcrc its sides with tall bushes. which often mct over the middle of the stream. that I doubt if any more elaborate apparatus would have been so ef- fcctlvé. Certainly I often made some cnncl catches, though the trout wcrc always qiiitc small. But they were excellent eating. I won't vouch ini- the angling in that brook today. though. for it is years since I have fislicrl there.
