Governor nor his advisers ever a' tempted to correct the impression, but allowed the Commissioners to finish their enquiry, and only forwarded the Bill to Eogiand the very same day they left the Island, by which time the proprietors became aware of ‘the powers of the Commission and the full se spe of the en- quiry, and had an ample opportunity for preparing their re- monstrances against the bill, which the Lieut. Governor for- warded with the Dill itsolf, without a single line in fayour of | the measure.
