The King’s County Election Case
The King’s County election case was brought up before the House yesterday, by Mr. Cameron, of Huron. He made a long speech in favor of Dr. Robertson.
Mr. McKenzie moved an amendment to Sir John’s motion—that the case be re- ferred to the Committee on privileges and elections—asserting Dr. Robertson’s right to take the seat, and censuring the return- ing officer. He made a fine speech. He was followed by Messrs. Flemming and Davies favoring, and Messrs. Woodworth, Amyot and White against the amendment. Wiggin’s Gale—Shocks of Earth- quake.
The reports regarding the storm of the 11th are as follows :-—
Warertoo, P. Q., March 11.—The severest storm for years perhaps is in pro- gress. Between 10 and 11 o'clock this morning two distinct shocks of earthquakes were felt here.
Hauirax, March 11.—One of the severest gales experienced here for some time raged from the south-east between 4 o’clock yesa- terday afternoon and 9 o'clock at night. Extra precautions were taken to secure shipping. Very little damage has been done.
Frepericron, N. B., March 11.—The much talked of storm arrived last night, but was not as severe as predicted nor of very long duration. No damage from the gale here.
Sr. Joun, P. Q., March 11.—The storm of last night was the heaviest of the season. Two shocks of earthquake were felt this morning at 10.57 end a third at 11.07.
Gaspz, P. Q., March 11.—Heath Point, Anticosti, reports state that a very heavy south-east gale prevailad there during last night. | Monrreat, March 11.—A very heavy ‘fall of snow commenced here early on Saturday and only ceased at 3 p.m. With the exception of a little blow from 8 o’clock to 12 last night, there was no wind storm.
Orrawa, March 11.—A ineavy gale blew here this morning between 2 and 3 o'clock, but no damage js reported. Wiggins claims that the telegrams show there has been a big storm, and says there will be no more such storms this year.
San Francesco, March 11.—There are no signs of a storm on the Pacific cast.
