Interest In Clinto

Interest in the "Day Camp." being held at Sud Montgomery's (the former Woodside Airport) at Clinton on the Margate Riv- er is at a high pitch these days, and one afternoon recent- ly a large number of the par. ents of the over 400 children in- volved in the program turned up to watch the proceedings.

This “Day Camp" which got underway July 28. is a co—oper- ative effort of the Kensington Lions' Club, the Women's Insti- tutes of the 26 school districts which comprise the Kensington Regional High School. the De- partment of Physical Fitness, and the provincial Red Cross

It is the first entirely rural venture of this ' ever un- dertaken in the province and the participants are receiving not only instruction in swim- ming and water safety. but in field sports as well.

It is designed to provide wat- er safety knowledge to every child in the communities of the area. and it is the hope of the provincial Red Cross water safety committee that the plan can be enlarged from year to

year until it involves every child in the province.

Judy Clark, David Johnstone. James Webb as well as Darrell and Allan Picketts, who ar qualified as "leaders" in th 1 a program.

Today‘s feature of this two week activity will be an Aqua- tic Day during which competi- tions of various kinds will be carried on and prizes awarded. Friday and Saturday will be "testing days" with the awards being presented on Saturday.

On Wednesday afternoon.
