Tae Court for the revision of the Voters’ Lists finally closed on Saturday evening. It will open again on the third of August for the purpose of certifying the list. At the session which has just closed in this city, the evidence of about five hundred voters was taken.

Pror, Ceci, the famous exposer, of spri- tualism, is coming to Charlottetown. He gives one of his intensely interesting enter- tainments at Market Hall next Thursday evening. He comes here with most excellent endorsements, from both the clergy and the press. In speaking of him, the St. John Jelegraph says: ‘‘ The enter- tainment, by Prof. Cecil, at the Institute last eve , Was, certainly, one of the best ever given in this city, and was highly en- joyed by the large audience present. Prof. Cecil ig a perfect genius in his way, and while doing a good turn by exposing the folly of spiritualism, keeps a crowd ina tumult of laughter by his genial mirth pro- voking ways and doings.”

A Sensation.— Our correspondent at Morell sends us the following note, which was found on Sunday on the railroad track, about half a mile east of Morell Station. It was written on a slip of newspaper and en- closed in a sailor's knife-sheath, placed carefully on a sleeper, with a stone on top of it. The correspondent heard that the writer of the note was seen at St. Peter’s Harbor on Saturday evening, so that he probably did not commit the deed medi- tated :—

** Saturday night.

** Whoever finds this will go in the bushes the way this spike points, and you will finda broken-hearted man with his throat cut.

‘‘Send to Boston and you will find my friends.

** Sigaed Davip M.”

The correspondent further states : ‘‘ We

pose him to be a young man, calling himself David Morrison, who came up this way three or four days ago on a ‘ girl hunt,’ and we have heard he did not succeed in seeing her, as she kept out of his way. He had no money on him, as I hear he did not pay his bill to the widow with whom he was staying. There was a crowd search- ing the bushes for him yesterday. If alive and he appears around here again, he will likely meet with a warm reception.”

At the anniversary of the establishment of the Liberal-Association of Bermondsey street, London, last night, Mr. Gladstone made a long speech, in which he begged to decline resuming the leadership of the Liberal party. He powerfully attacked the manner in which the people have lately been governed. He said that no despotic government in Europe would have dared to do what the present Cabinet had done in accepting such responsibilities unknown to the people. He criticised the Treaty of Berlin, whereby England has consented tore- place under the despotic rule of Russia Bess- arabia, which belonged to free Roumania.

Gladstone concluded by hop- ing that the Ministry would shortly be judged by an appeal to the country.
