In the evening the Jatter came to where | Mr. McGregor was chopping, and found bim pinned to the ground by atree. Life was ex\inct, apparently for a considerable time, and tloed was issuing from nose and meuth.

The body was removed and taken to Mr. McGregor’s houre.

The cause of the fatality is obecure; bu: it is supposed that, owing to the day being windy, the tree lodged, and 1n en- deavoring to bring it down, it fellin an unexpected direction and struck the unfor- tunete woodeman.

Mr. McGregor was about fifty yeare old, and leaves a wife and thirteen children, to whom Tue Examiner extends sincere sym- | pathy.
