GROTON, Coun.. (AP) -- Man moved for the first time under atomic power Monday. less than in years after its terrifying force burst upon Hiroshima.

Under nuclear propulsion. the 3.000-ton submarine Nautilus slid smoothly from a dock at 11:01 am EST for her first sea trials and :i1n's first trail-blazing use of the mntrolled atom for transportation. She is under command of Cmdr. Eugene Wilkinson of San Diego,

fuelling, looked bigger than the conventional submarine.

There was none of the smoke that comes from the exhaust of diesel engine-powered submarines. The Nautilus picked up speed quickly once it headed toward the sound at l2 knots.

Anyone watching her from shore could have mistaken her for any one of the many submarines that ply the Thames from the base up- river.

The constellation left Harmon at 8:02 pm. AST. It first reported itself in, trouble at about 4:45 am.

The new civic educational tax as- sessment for 1055 is to be 325 for males and :12 for females earning 01,200 a year or more. This resolu- tion was moved by Coun. E. C. Ontario Farmers Ask Local Gov'f For Purify Price

TORONTO, (OP) - The Ontario Farmers Union asked the Ontario government Monday to establish a parity price support program to bolster what it called "falling farm income".
