A COMPLINT,

Sir,-—I wish to say a few words through the columns of Tue Examiver about the mail to Upper Newton Cross. Newton has a semi-weekly mail on Tuesdays and Fridays. The present carrrier’s duties are s3 follows: Leaves Newton for Orwell Post Office at 10.30 a. m., and is to remain at the latter post office for one heur and his hour of depar- ture for Newton 12.45. What I want to bring to light is this complaint: If the mail courier from Charlottetown hasn’t arrived he won't wait, and therefore Fri- day’s Examiner will not reach its sub- scribers until the following Tuesday Instead of getting them on Friday, the proper day, they are kept in the Orwell Post Office till Tuesday. And if such affairs are going to exist all that can be done is to withdraw our Examiner.

A correspondont informs us that the Vernon River Bridge Cheese Factory is going to begin cheese making on May 15th Already the contracts for hauling the milk ou the different routes has been given and at much lower rates than last year. The quantity of milk delivered at the factory la-t year was 922,870 lbs.; quantity of chee-e manufactured, 83,315ibs., of the value of $8,770.13—a handsome sum for the patrons, paid monthly, enabling them to purchase their necessaries at cash price and keep out of the merchants’ books, in too many cases the ruin of our farmers. Section 7—Water Takers shali prevent all unnecessary waste, and water shall not be running to prevent freezing. There shall be no concealment of che purposes for which water ia used.

Section 5—Any person supplied with water shall notallow another to vake water from their fixtures witout the written permission oj the Water Commissioners.
