Friday. 27th ult., being St. John's Day was celebrated with the usual Masonic honors by the members oi'St. John’s Lodge in this city. .In the morning llicy marched in procession to St. Paul's Church, whch their worthy brother. the Rev. Archdeacon Read. I). I).. preached I!" able and eloquent. sermon appropriate to the occasion. Brother Earle. assisted in the singing by the ladies oftliu choir, as llieandi- once was retiring at the clean of the services. played a March dedicated to St. John's Lodge. Joined by tho Arclidcncoiithe procession now refortiie . and marched down Prince Street. through Water Street and up Queen Stvrcttn St. John‘s Hall. which was then dedicated in presence of it large number of Lady Visitors. The services were very solemn and impres- sive. was conducted by I’ast Master Adam Murray. acting as the II. \V. (lraml Master. and John iiIchill. limp. C.II.A.. and Deputy Grand Master. the preacher of the day acting as chaplain. The weather was everything that could be desired for such it demonstration.
