the sale of liquor again becomes operative, it would be well for the prera to discuss the merits of the “Peters Act” and see if some im- provement on it could not be dewised. I have not the time, the learning nor the inclination tu go into

the matter, but have no doubt that if you opened your columns to a diseussion of

the act many practical sugge ions would be made and mach good result. I would |e tosee an ardition to the

act providing that no liquor be allowed to be sold within 400 feet of any church, “Salvation Army Barracks” or school. Such an addition to the act would com- mend itself to me. What do you think of Piner.

Waterworks Survey.—The Summer- side correspondent of the Guardian writes : Mr. Hunt, chairman of the town council, has completed arrangements with Prof. Lea for the survey in connection with the proposed waterworks and sewerage sys- tem. The survey wil! be commenced on Monday. In addition to his previous pro- posal Prof. Lea is to make duplicate plans and exhibit them in Montreal te rarties who wish to tender for the work, write the specifications for tender and furnish an estimate of revenue and cost of maintenance. The whole will cost the town about $300. Test wells will be sunk at the different probable sources of supply to ascertain the quantity of water available.
