Tue Hipernica —Howorth's Hibernica and Comedy Company gave two perform- ances in the Lyceuin on Saturday—one in the afternoon and the other in the even- ing. ‘* Larry and Teddy” was the bill of fare on both occasions, and there was a good attendance. The specialties were all new, and the different parts were well taken. There will be another change of programme to-night, when the company gives its last performance here this season.

Toronto, Oct. 31.

The Globe on Saturday in a double-lead- ed editorial advocates the sale of the Inter- colonial Railway to the Canadian Pacific Railway and asks tha Dominion Govern- ment to give the C. P. R. a sufficient sub- sidy to establish a fast Atlantic service be- tween Great Britain and Canada. This means that if such a measure should eman- ate from the Ottawa Government next ses- sion the Liberal party will offer no opposi- tion.

Results of the Hurricane

Queenstown, Oct, 31. Arriving vessels continue to report dis- asters resulting from the hurricane weather on the Atlantic, and fears are entertained for the safety oi many vessels. The steam- ers Etru~ia and City of Chester were unable to land here and proceeded to Liverpool.

The British steamer Oranmore his arriv- ed, bringing the captain and >rew otf eleven seanen and stewardess of tie ship- wrecked barque Supreme. Capt. degesen, of the Supreme, states on Oct. L7:a the barque was struck by a gale which increas- ed to a hurricane, causing the vesse! to ship great quantities of water and throwing her on her beam ends, where she remained several hours. The vessel sprang a leak, and the crew had to work incessantly at the pumps to keep her eflvat. The following day the rudder was carried away, render- ing her unmanageable. The gales blew in- cessantly for four days. The crew were completely exhausted when rescued.

Great Fire—Vessels Damaged.

Puicabecpuia, Oct. 31. Point Breeze was visited by fire yester- day. The wharves and shipping were damaged to the extent of nearly $200,000 The iron bark Felix was sunk, and the bark Elena and a lighter loaded with vase oil were burned to the water's edge.

SuipMENTs oF Propuce —The three-masted schooner Annie, Capt. McDonald, from Pic- tou, came here last Thursday morning and will be loaded with white oats by Mr. A. M, Wiight. She will take about 15,000 bushels and it ig prebable her destination will be the Wes: Indies.

The barkentine Bonita, Capt, Ledwell, was ready for sea on Saturday. The Messrs Richards of Biedeford have 36,000 bushels of white and black oats on board of her, and she will proceed to Queenstown or Falmouth for orders.

The Sophie Stewart, Captain Walsh, also had her cargo of potatoes completed. She has about 4 000 bushels on board with a quantity of turnips on deck.—Pivneer,
