An interesting discussion followed, after which Hughes at the request of the Minister of Militia withdrew his resolu-~ tion. Hughes then moved a resoluiion to the, eflect that the Goveromeot should grant , transportaod entrance fees to the Dominion | Association matches, at least to those men who were pot hitherto prize winners. The purpose of the meeiing is to bring up new shote aud thore who are not pot- huating. Tae Minister of Militia said he eympathiz- ed with all the schemes to briog upthe average of shooting, and declared that such was the view of Geoeral Hutton. Hughes then withdraws his motion the purpose of which was to give an opportuni- iy for discussion.

Z., April 28.—Advices just received bere from Apia, Samoan islande, dated April 12, state that severe fighting has taken place between large bodies of friendly vatives and the rebels. The casualties, it was thought, would not exceed twenty, and no Europeans were among the injured.
