Bedeque United Church Told

Membership Has Increased

The annual meeting of Bedeque | son. Welcoming Committee: Mrs.

United church congregation, was held in the church hall and was well attended. The pastor Rev. G. A. Cowper-Smith presided and opened the meeting with a short devotional period.

Two minutes silence was obser- ved in. memory of the following departed members: Mrs. Carrie Schurman, Mrs. Edward Gardiner and Alfred A. McInnis. REPORTS

Reports were handed in from the W. M. S. South Bedeque Y. W. A., Edith Thompson Auxiliary, and Peserverance Mission Band, showing that by their combined ‘efforts they had raised a total of $1,122.81. The Treasurer re- ported for the Stewards, that, for the whole pastoral charge in- cluding Albany and Borden, all amounts handed in for all pur- poses amounted to $15,850.00 out of which the allocation for Mis- sionary and Maintenance of $3.- 200.00 was taken and forwarded to Toronto.

REPAIR WORK

Reports from the Sunday School Junior Group, Cradle: Roll, Y. P. U., Sigma-C., C. G. I. T. were given by their leaders; all stat- ing that good interest had been taken in the meetings with a very satisfactory attendance. The Trustee Board gave an ac- count of some repair work -in connection with the church grounds and the basement of the new hall; and the Parsonage Steward reported some ‘repairs had been made.to the parsonage. The Cemetry committee report- ed extensive repairs.

The Welcoming Committee and the Decorating Committee each reported considerable work per- formed during the year.

The Pastor then gave avery encouraging report of the years work on ‘the charge, with large congregations and the finances in a satisfactory condition, and the spiritual life of the church had been manifest by the large -addi- tion to the church membership.

In closing he thanked, the Organist and choir, and all the leaders of the several societies who had co-operated in helping to carry on th church work. ELECTED

The regular meeting of Ken- sington Presbyterian Y.P.S. was held in the Church Hall on Tues- day evening, February 4, with the president, Marjorie MacArthur presiding and also leading the devotions. Ten members were present.

Janet Crozier will be in charge of the missionary topic, and Billie Corbett, the devotions for next week’s meeting.

Plans were made to have’ a social Tuesday evening, February il at the home of Thelma Moase. The Bible study led by Mr. Bean was based on the topic, ‘‘What Shall I Do?”

Meeting closed with ‘‘Blest Be the Tie That Binds’’ and the Miz- pah Benediction in unison.
