Leacve oF Tae Cross.—The League of the Cross picvic is taking place today at Emerald Junction. The day is a delight- ful one for such an outing, aod the attend- ance is exceedingly large. Daly, retiring K.euteuant governor of the province of Nova Scotia, Lady and Miss Daly. The presenta‘ion speech was made by Mayor Hamilton in the yreeence of @ large number of prominent citizeus, and the gifts were made on behalf of friends ip the city and province of Sir M. B Daly, Lady and Mies Daly. Tbe gift to Sir M. B. Daly consisted of a magnificent dress~ ing case, ean piece of the set eontained in the case was silveremounted and bore the Leutenant-governor’s crest and the plate on tne case bore his monogram. The gift to Lady Daly was a very handsome diamond Star pendant with chain attach - ed, and to Miss Daly a diamond ring. The to'al cost of the three gifts was about $800. Another gift, not included io the uriginal programme was also presented to Sir Malacby and Lady Daly. It was a bandsome silver loviug cup from the officers of the flagship Creecent.
