Laxe Wiwnipec.—The Beaver Line steamshtp Lake Winnipeg, after discharg- ing a large cargo, left this afternoon for Montreal. Sheis expected back again about the 4th or 5th of November, when she will take in cargo for Liverpool. During her stay at Charlottetown the Lake Winnipeg was loeded with bunker coal by Peake Bros. & Co.

Pouttry Srations.—It is said that the Cavadian Department of Agriculture is arranging to open a number of poultry~ fattening stations, at present to be limuted to Ontario and Quebec. A change is said to have come over the taste of food con- sumers in Great Britain in the direction of more poultry. Prof. Robertson found that a large part of three counties had in recent years became a poultry farm.
