Curistmas Cantata —The Cantata and Christmas tree in the Christian Churci: on Christmas night proved most enjoyable. The Cantata was cleverly presented, and the vocal and instrumental music was excellent. The Christmas Tree was of especial interest to the little ones, and was a mcst enjovable feature of the entertainment. Afer coffee and cake, the Nationa! Anthem was sung and the pro- ceedings bronght to a close.

Sceppen Deatu.—The Guardian revorts the sudden death of Mre. Samuel Kennedy, of Brada)baue, in the Sith year of her age. It seema that Mre. Kernedy bad enjoved exe+llent health upto Friday last. Mr. Donald Matheson, who lived a few hon- dred yards distance, had died a day or two previous, and on Friday evening Mrs. Kennedy walked over to sympathize with the bereaved. She had ecarsely entered tbe house when she was stricken with apoplexy for the second time, having had a previous stroke several veare ago. She sank at once to the floor and never re- gained consciousness. Two physicians were at once summoned but were un- able to grapple with the dread destroyer.
