Purpose of the investigation is to determine whether or not a combine in restraint of trade ex- Isis in the paper industry. The Commissioner reports hi's find- ings to the Government, which may launch prosecutions if a com- bine is found to exist.

The paper case, so far as is known. here, is one of two major combines investigations in pro- gress. The other is an inquiry into the rubber industry. This was launched originally by Fred M. MicGrogor, former combines coni- missioner. and continued by Mr. MacDonald.

On Thursday, April lath. ihe( Angel of Death visited the P. 16.2 Island Hospital and claimed for its own the gentle spirit of Mrs. 1-ieb-i er sherren in her 54th year. Born in Crapaud. she was the daughter of the late John and Margaret MacDonald. !

Although being in poor health for some time she remained active in the home untu a few months, ago. and five weeks previously had; entered the Hospital for treat-, ment and on the above date an- operation was performed and great hopes were entertained for her re-' covery. but God willed otherwise and despite all the loving care of doctors aild nurses she passed, peacefully into that heavenly rest which remaineth for the children tor God.

Previous In ciileriii; the Hospital she had been helped and cared for by her daughter. Frames. who was her constant companion. and who spared neither time nor effort in helping her beloved mother.

Mrs. Sherren was a. woman of a very kind disposition, devoted to her family, by whom she will be greatly missed. Always of a quiet and retiring nature and never being very robust. her chief inter- est was in her home and family, who cherish the memory of e. de-: voted mother. '
