for a short time after his arrival, he aad the late Mr. John Butler, « teacher, of Lot 48, having passel examination and received licenses_—_ tw teach at the same time. Mr. Sheidow afterwards

settled on a farm where he reared his family and prospered in circumstances. Kew men of his time had a better cultivated mind than Mr. Sheidow. Welk read, thoughtful, pos sessed of a large Mare of natlve wit, aman of

integrity of character, and deeply religious, his long life was a happy and useful one. He was widely known and highly respected. For
