Blacky is both right and wrong. A race is neither won noi- lost until the finish but. sometimes the ivay, 1Y1 which it is run amounts to more for the loser than does the winning for the winner. There is more to a race than just speed.

The Green Meadows have seen many races. They happen there almost every day. They are ex- Cilills races because usually a race is for life. Nothing can be more exciting than that.
