The captain of the Avon, recently arrived at reports having witnessed an nary sight at sea. When in latitude 28 min. 58 sec, south, and longitude 46 min. 14 sec, west, he sighted a ship

Noticeing other wreckage at a distance of two and a half miles in a south easterly direction, he made toward it, and discovered it to be part of a third vessel bottem up, copper- ed, with the bows pointed south-east. Messrs. Moody and Sankey.
About eighteen months ago, Messrs. Moody and Sankey began their second evangelists champaign in Great Britain, and have now visited about a score of towns and cities in England aod Wales. The work in Oxford and Cambridge has been particularly successfal, contary to the expectations of many. The inhabit- ants of those conservative seats of learn- ing, it was thought, and especially the students, were the last people to be at- tracted by the plain speaking evangelist. The result of the mission in the univer- sity cities however,has exceeded the ex- pectations of its most sanguine friends. Many of the undergraduates themselves were remarkably influenced by Mr. Mvody’s preaching, and solid results have followed.
In. Ireland, visited Limerick, Cork and Waterford, and Mr. Moody says he never spoke to more enthusiastic crowds. From Waterford they have gone to London, where they will re- main at least till next July. A central committee and local eommitetes have arranged a programme of visits to all parts of the motripolis, each lasting for fifteen or eighteendays. In some district temporary balls have been er- ected, und on the 4th of November, at eight o'clock in the morning, Messrs. Moody and Sankey began their London work by addressing a great audience ot about 4,000 people.
Mr. Moody said that he came to Lon- don withhigh anticipation. He had a hundred times more faith now than when he wes there eight years ayo, when the work came upon them with little notice. He had seen fruits of that London revivaleven among the Rocky Mountains.
Three more great meetings were held that day; one at eleven o'clock, another (ter women only) in the afternoon, when 4,000 women assembled in spite ofa thunderstorm; and one, for men only, in the eveniog, when the hall was packed with more thhn 5,000 hearers long before the meeting opened,
