He will be missed by his many iriends but especially in the home as the weiiare 0! his family was always his lirst concern. He was 5 member of the Peters Rodd Presbyterian Church and served as a member oi the Session !or many years.
He leaves to mourn his passing. a devoted widow. (nee Wlnnilred Johnston),-also two sons and three daughters. Vernon of Montreal and Lyle at home; Elsie (Mrs. G. Elms) of Watertown. Mass.: Helen. (Mrs. C. Toonrey) oi Atlanta Ga.. and Anne. (Mrs. E. C. Code) oi Charlottetown. A son. Forrest. pre- deceased him several years ago.
The funeral service which was held in the Presbyterian Church was largely attended and was con- ducted by the pastor. Rev. Carl cur;-ie, who spoke words of com- iort to'the bereaved, taking for his text Luke 2.20. "hard. now let- test thou thy servant depart in peace. according to thy word." Hymns sung were: "The Lord's My Shepherd" and "By Cool Sil- nom's Shady Rill." iavourites oi the deceas, A solo, "I want To Go 'rhere.' n't You?" sung by Mr. Willard MaoLean. also a trio. "My Jesus I Love Thee" by Rev. C. Currie. Messrs. Walter Camp- bell and Pierce Butler were both beautifully rendered.
Many beautiful iloral tributes and messages of sympathy bore silent testimony of the love and esteem in which the departed we; hold.
interment took place in the Pe- ters' Road Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Messrs. Reginald Johnston. Allan Cameron, Gerald Johnston. John Glllls. Harry Johnston and Marvyn Johnston.
Thus the pioneers pass away and we who are left must 'step forward to take our places for a brief time in their ranks. May others leave behind such a fitting heritage as the one whose bi- ogrsphy is here so ieebly rend- ere .
