Millionaires club went through two strenuous sessions today at Sydney Forum.

Playlna-coach Bill , Dinning opened all stops to get the Meri- time major champions in top

shape for the opening Of the new Maritime major big six next Mon- day night when Moncton Hawks will he the visiting club.

Skating with'the club today was Orville Jied) Olson, from last year's North Sydney club, one of lo' defencemen battling for a berth.

Dinning used Don (Red) Mc- Rae. team captain for two years. on the 'forwa.rd lines throughout the afternoon session.

On defence. Ed Murineau, from last year's North Sydney club, worked with Joe Levandoski. ex- pro from New York Rangers' chain. They played together at Kansas City last season.

Ronnie Matthews and Johnny Baby were together as another unit; Tom Rock-ey and Lawrie May doubled up as a pair, while Dean Macnride teamed up with Olson.

Sonny MacDonald. defence stalwart with Junior Millionaires. also attended the practices and was tried up front and on the de- fence line.

The club's spare goalie, Greg Gloyd, was between the pipes for both sessions. Best looking string on the attack was the reunited line from last. season--Clii Roach pivoting for Bill Cupulo andl George Robertson.

Don (whip) Whnlen was going well on another line with Kent Storey from North Sydney at centre. Lou Hauch, the Regina Caps high scorer of last season. continues to impress the rail- birds with his sharp work.

George Robertson. the big loft winger who was formerly with Montreal Canadlensn appeared to be going faster than ever, and de- fenceman. Joe Levandoskl was attracting a lot of attention Johnny Baby was skating faster at the afternoon session and team- cd well with Ronnie Matthews.

The first. ronventon of Maritime Youn: People's of the United Church of Canada opened Saturday afternoon, Oct. 6, in Halifax, at St. Andrew's United Church Hall with over 225

delegates present representing the three Maritime provinces. Twenty-five of the delegates

were from Prince Edward Island.

Miss Jean Furay. President, of Saint John. N. B.. presided at the banquet. served by the ladies of the church. A welcome was ex- tended by Rev. W. C. Anderson oi St. Andrew's Church and Don Hiltz. President of the Halifax Presbytery. Y. P. U.

Rev. J. Eaton Davtdge, recently appointed Field Secretary of H1? Christian Committee of the Unit.- ed Church in the Maritunes. Was guest speaker. Mr. Davidge urged the delegates to make a personali commitment to Jesus Christ.

Professor George Grant of Dal- housic University. than address- ed the Convention on World Ai- fairs. This was followed by a. per- iod of "Twenty Questions.” on Biblical subjects directed hy Rev. Harry Rackham.

The evening SI'SSl0ll closed with Vespers under the leadership of Miss Anna Hamilton, Springhill. Nova Scotia. on the subject. "0 God. our Help in Ages Past."
