What's On At the Panther Lounge

Ecstatic! Happy! Excited! Shall we go on? Two sellouts ina row. Wednesday night’s Yuk Yuks saw the Barn packed to the rafters while Thursday’s Main Event saw the dry and wet sections as full as they ever have been. Since Wednesday and Thursday were so great we think we should do it again! So this Thursday (the 17th) we’re bringing in The Trees from Halifax. The band’s awards include the Best Band Award at Yahama/Nescafe International Popular Music Festival and have appeared on Video Hits,Good Rockin Tonite, and Much Music so if you want to get in and have a great time we hope you’ ll be there early so nobody will be turned away. Other Lounge news included a full house (not a table left by three o’clock) at the That’s Entertainment Movie Pub. Poor Janice Ployer of the Campus Police staff was popping fresh popcorn all afternoon. Shane Gallant won the Senior Class 50/50 draw while ten tickets to the April Wine concert were also given away. We were going to try and wait for awhile but we broke down. So this Friday’s That’s Entertainment Movie Pub movies will be WA YNE’s WORLD and Cape Fear. So come on down and blow chunks with Wayne and Garth. The following week’s movies, (September 25th) will

be Ladybugs, starring Rodney Dangerfield, and Medicine Man, with Sean Connery. This Wednesday, September 23 will see the return of Labatt Jam Night. Sean Nason, Shawn Pitre and the newest member of the Strings, Jim O’ Leary will be your host band fora night of music and laughs. Check out the great looking sign in the Pit. Speaking of bands how does eight bands in one night sound. Yes eight different bands will be performing September 26th, a Satur- day night, at the Panther Lounge. The campus radio station, CIMN, has put together an impressive lineup of bands including Richard Reagh, Hemlock, Blackpool, Curfew, Desert Moon, Scott Parsons, and Kickstart. Tickets are on sale around campus. It should be a memorable extravaganza with the first band beginning around 7:00 p.m. We expect to set up stages at each end of the Barn so the music will be going on all night long. The Amazing Santini will be appear- ing at the Panther Lounge on Thursday, September 24. Come watch your friends get hypnotized and run around the Lounge acting like chickens. Guaranteed to amaze even the most sceptical. Come on down and enjoy United Distillers Golf Night, Saturday Night Live Replays and Moosehead Crazy Saturdays. See ya at the Barn!
