the Young Women's Guild of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Montague. at the October meet- ing Monday evening. The meet- ing was conducted by Mrs. Claude Nicholson. and, opened with the h.V'mn ”Br'rnging In The Sheaves". The scriwure was read by Mrs. Gerald Jardine. fol- lowed by prayer by Mrs. P. N. Young. The minutes of the pre- vious meeting were read and ap- proved. The financial report was read by the treasurer, Mrs. Nel- son. One member was reported in hospital. Plans were discus- sed for decorating the church for Thanksgiving. Arrangements for the bazaar table at the fall sup- per were also discussed and sev- eral committees. were appointed. A number of bazaar articles were handed in. and work on the quilt was completed at the close of the meeting. The meeting closed with the Mizpah benediction. Lunch was served by the hostess. ss- sisted by Mrs. Byron Stewart and Mrs. Claude Nicholson.

Thirty rating contestants per- formed before H capacity audience in Yeo's Theatre last night at the Amateur Cavalcade. which was sponsored by the Montague Home and school Association. and prizes were donated by a local feed firm.

The tri-aster of ceremonies was Mr. Eric Jessome of Charlottetown, ixho at the beginning of the pro- '.ZTalYl spoke a few words saying how happy he was to be present as M.C. at the Amateur Caval- cadr. and what a great pleasure to see the children so anxious to take part in the contest.

The bride looked charming in a street-length dress of blue satin and carried a bouquet of pink roses. Her only attendant was the bridesmaid. Mary Mac- Gillivray. sister of the groom, who was dressed in a street- length dress of pink satin and carried a bouquet. of red roses.-

The groom was attended by Louis Annistie, a brother of the bride.

The choir under the direction of William J. Steele sang sp- propriatc hymns during the wed- ding ceremony.

was held at the home of Mrs. Angus MacGillivray attended by about fifty guests.

The bride and groom 'are spending their honeymoon tra- velling through the Maritimes and Eastern States. On their

There passed away in the early hours of Tuesday morning Mr. Robert MaoLai-en at his home in Cardigan. The deceased was 76 years of age. A life-long res- ident of Cardigan. Mr. MacLaren was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Duncan MacLai'cn. Cardigan.
