A Hidden Treasure.

A bout three weeks ago a man pur chased at anauction sale by Messrs. Duggan ot Halitax an old secretary for

the sum of twenty cents. After getting it home he found ia a secret drawer a large sum of money in notes and some £400 in Baak of British North America stock, The owner of t! 16 SsCCreiatl y was Matthew Mooney, who had sent it with # quantity of other household goods to the auction room. Mr. Mooney, of course, knew nothing of the hidden treasures until informed by the pur- chaser. It appeares the money and steck belonged to a deceased sister of the late Mes, Mooney.
