Mrs. Murphy chose for her
daughter’s wedding, a dress of brown figured taffeta with fawn accessories and wore a corsage of white carnations. The groom’s mother wore a navy blue dress with white accessories and a cor— sage of white carnations. t Following the ceremony. a re- ception for sixty guests was held at the home of the bride’s uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. William Farrell. The bride’s table was attractively decorated and cen— tered with a three-tier wedding cake topped with a miniature bride and groom. The toast to the bride was proposed by the best man and was responded to by the groom. A number of tele- grams were received and were read by Mr. Murphy.
The young couple left on a honeymoon trip through the Mar- itimes. For travelling, the bride wore a blue flocked wool suit with white accessories and a cor— sage of pink carnations. On their return they took up residence in Montague where the groom is proprietor of the Snack Bar Res- taurant and the bride is emiplOY- ed with Clark Bros.
The popular young couple were guests of honor at a miscellan— eous shower in Lower Montague hall where they received many lovely and useful gifts and the best wishes of a host of friends.

Mrs. F. H. Barlow. who visits Prince Edward Island with her husband the Hon. Mr. Justice Barlow, and ‘has many friends in the legal profession here has added another laurel for herself in her home city of Toronto. Mrs. Barlow, a graduate of the Royal Conservatory of Music, Toronto, isa member of the alumnae. She is prominent in many organiza- tions among which is the Wo- men’s Association of the Eaton Memorial Church.
This late autumn Mrs. Bar- low forwent the pleasure of go- ing to Ottawa with her husband who is president of the English Speaking Union when the Duke of Edinburgh was there because she was Mrs. The reason for this was that Mrs. Ba‘nlow had pro- mised to be convener of the Chry- santhemum Luncheon and Sale in November at the Timothy Elat- on Memorial Church. Her keep- ing her trust evidently paid off because the Chrysanthemum Tea was a greater success than ever before. The sum taken in was almost six thousand dollars. The expenses were kept to a mini- mum by contributions and good management.
Miss Margaret P. Hyndman, Q. C., international president of the Business and Professional Women‘s Club recently re- turned from Paris where she at- tended an international executive meeting of the club. Miss Hynd- man comments that her time in Paris was mostly spent in work. The weather was sunny and warm for November. Violets and free- sia were being sold on the streets. The international executive had a moonlight trip on the Seine and saw all the architectural gems'il- luminated as they were for the Queen last May. Apparently it was an unforgettable experience. Plans for the BusineSs and Pro- fessional Women’s congress which is to meet in Paris next J uly sound very exciting. They include an evening at the Opera and a banquet at Chantilly Castle. Many Canadian members of the B. and P. are planning to attend the congress among whom will be members from this province.
